PDF Homework Scanner Privacy Policy

Scan content and app metadata are processed on your device and are not sent to Banana Apps LLC by the app. We do not say "nothing ever leaves your device," because Apple device backup, content you choose to share out, visits to our website, and support emails are separate paths described below.

The following categories are processed on-device only:

• Captured camera page images
• Photos explicitly selected through the Apple PhotosPicker
• Images and PDFs explicitly selected through the Apple Files picker
• Processed page JPEGs (Original, Auto, Black & White, or Grayscale)
• Generated PDFs and thumbnails
• Assignment titles and optional class labels
• Creation timestamps
• Scan and page UUIDs, page order, and relative filenames
• Draft filter/rotation state and a saved-edit generation fingerprint
• Onboarding and default-filter preferences
• Temporary protected PDF copies used for sharing and export
• An in-memory library search query

The app has no user account, backend server, proprietary cloud, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, attribution SDK, remote crash reporter, AI service, or messaging system operated by Banana Apps.

Camera scanning uses Apple VisionKit and requires camera permission. Camera scanning is optional because you can also import.

Photo import uses Apple's PhotosPicker. The app reads only the individual photos you select; it does not request broad Photo Library access.

File import uses Apple's Files picker. The app reads only the individual images or PDFs you select. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.

Imported content is copied or rendered into app-local pages. The source photo or file remains outside the app in its original app or provider.

When you save a scan, the app stores protected local page JPEGs, a generated PDF, a thumbnail, and local SwiftData metadata (assignment title, optional class, creation timestamp, page order, and identifiers).

Unfinished work is stored as a local draft until you save it, discard it, replace it with another flow, or uninstall the app. Draft and temporary-export directories are excluded from Apple device backup.

Temporary protected PDF copies used for sharing or export become eligible for cleanup after 24 hours when export or maintenance cleanup next runs. Cleanup is best-effort; failed cleanups can leave local orphaned files until Library Audit & Repair or uninstall.

From the app itself, Banana Apps receives no scan content, metadata, usage events, crash reports, identifiers, or analytics. Banana Apps receives information only when you contact support (see below) or visit our website (see the Website Privacy Policy).

Local information is used to operate the app's scanning, review, editing, saving, search, resume, and sharing features on your device. Support emails are used to answer your message.

When you share a PDF through Apple's system share sheet, you choose the destination. The recipient app or service — for example a school portal, email client, cloud drive, messaging app, or another person — receives the PDF and its filename and applies its own terms and privacy practices.

Banana Apps does not sell app scan content and does not use it for targeted advertising, because the app does not receive it.

Saved app data may be included in Apple device backup according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies. Draft and temporary-export directories are excluded from backup. Uninstalling the app removes its local container from that device but does not necessarily remove Apple backup copies.

If you email [email protected], Banana Apps and our email provider may receive your email address, the sender name, the message content, message metadata, and any attachments you include.

Support email provider, access controls, retention, deletion, and privacy-request verification process: support email is handled by Google Workspace, restricted to authorized Banana Apps LLC personnel, retained for up to 24 months, and deleted on verified request

The app does not run advertising, remote analytics, attribution SDKs, or App Tracking Transparency because it does not track. These opt-outs do not exist because the underlying systems are not present.

Saved scans remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. You can delete individual scans from the library or scan detail. There is no in-app account and no account-deletion workflow. There is no verified bulk "Delete All Scans" action.

Uninstalling removes the app's local container from that device. Apple device backups may retain older app data per Apple's policies. Source photos and files must be managed in their original app or provider. A PDF you shared to another app or person is controlled by the recipient; deleting the app copy cannot recall external copies.

App data lives inside the standard iOS app sandbox with complete file protection. The app obscures content in the app switcher and uses protected temporary exports, and app-local processing keeps scan content off Banana Apps servers. We use reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not guarantee security.

Minimum age: ages 13 and up. Whether the app is directed to children under 13: the app is not directed to children under 13. Whether the app is offered directly to schools or only to consumers: the app is offered directly to consumers through the App Store and is not licensed to schools. We do not claim the app is "safe for minors" in any absolute sense.

The app processes information locally on your device. International processing may apply to support communications and to the getbananaapps.com website; see the Website Privacy Policy. the app is offered worldwide through the App Store and, where required, only with the consents mandated by local law

If we change this policy materially, we will update the Last Updated date and, where practical, provide additional notice. Continued use of the app after the update means you accept the revised policy.
