Sweep Privacy Choices
The controls Sweep actually offers today. We only list controls that exist. We will never ask for a password, complete payment-card details, or government identification to handle a privacy request.
Manage Photo Library permission
Change Sweep's Photo Library access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Sweep. You can choose Full access, Limited access, or None. Denying access prevents Sweep from scanning or deleting media.
Limited vs Full access
Limited access restricts Sweep to the items you have authorized; the scan and suggestions will only cover those items. Full access lets Sweep review your complete library. Full access is not required.
Notifications
Turn the local monthly reminder on or off in Sweep under More > Stay ahead. Change or revoke Sweep's notification permission entirely in iOS Settings > Notifications > Sweep. Sweep uses only a local notification; there is no remote push service.
Local UserDefaults state
Sweep stores a small amount of local state in iOS UserDefaults: onboarding completion, aggregate estimated lifetime bytes cleaned, last successful cleanup date, and reminder-enabled preference. Sweep does not intentionally persist photo identifiers, thumbnails, feature prints, or event-level cleanup history.
No in-app reset-all control
Sweep does not currently include an in-app "reset all local data" feature. To remove local state, uninstall Sweep as described below.
No account, no server-side scan dataset
Sweep does not create Banana Apps accounts and does not maintain a server-side copy of your photos, metadata, scan results, selections, or cleanup history. There is no server account to close and no automated developer access, export, or deletion portal because that data is not held by us.
Deleting the app vs Offload App
Deleting Sweep from a device removes Sweep's local container from that device, including its UserDefaults state. Apple's "Offload App" is different from deleting the app: Apple may preserve app documents and data when offloading, and behavior can vary by iOS/iPadOS version. Sweep cannot guarantee all platform outcomes for offload or reinstall.
Photos already changed through Apple Photos
Uninstalling Sweep or changing its permissions does not restore photos or videos that have already been deleted or changed through Apple Photos. Recovery of items in Recently Deleted is controlled by Apple.
Apple device backups
Apple backup copies of app data must be managed through your Apple settings. Banana Apps cannot delete Apple backup copies for you.
No analytics, ads, or tracking opt-outs
Sweep does not use advertising, remote analytics, attribution SDKs, or App Tracking Transparency, so those opt-outs are not applicable — the underlying systems are not present in the app.
Support-email privacy requests
For requests about support communications Banana Apps actually holds, email [email protected] or [email protected]. We do not operate an automated access, export, or deletion portal for support emails.
