Becoming Alt Community Guidelines
Becoming Alt is an adults-only space for careful growth, alternative identity, learning, and mutual support. Participation is optional.
Launch status
The connected Community is read-only for the current Production candidate. Server- side filtering, reporting, blocking, muting, moderation, appeals, rate limits, private media checks, audit, and retention controls are deployed, but contributions and media remain disabled until the verified operator gate passes.
Where these rules apply
These rules apply to public profiles, posts, comments, polls, images, reactions, follows, and other Community activity. Private reflections, journals, habits, learning progress, reports, blocks, mutes, appeals, and staff notes are not public.
Be respectful
- Discuss ideas and experiences without attacking, humiliating, or threatening people.
- Do not gatekeep identity, target protected characteristics, promote hate, or encourage bullying.
- Do not sexualize, objectify, or rate real people.
- Respect boundaries. Blocking and muting do not require an explanation.
Keep people safe
- No credible threats, encouragement of self-harm, exploitation, or instructions for dangerous or illegal acts.
- No sexual content involving minors, pornography, explicit sexual content, or non-consensual intimate material.
- No personal addresses, precise locations, private contact details, financial information, or other doxxing.
- Do not present unsafe body-modification, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice as professional instruction.
- The Community is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services when someone is in immediate danger.
Be authentic and lawful
- No impersonation, scams, spam, coordinated manipulation, ban evasion, or automated engagement.
- Share only content you have the right to use. Do not post pirated work, substantial copyrighted text, or another person's image without permission.
- Label personal experience as personal experience. Do not knowingly spread false or dangerously misleading information.
- No anonymous posting, direct messages, live location, dating, or buying and selling through the Community.
Reporting, blocking, and muting
Use the in-app report flow for a post, comment, or profile. Reports are private and do not expose the reporter to the reported member. Blocking and muting give you immediate personal control while the service processes any report.
Reports remain available when Community participation is paused. Safety controls, export, and account deletion are never paywalled.
How moderation works
New or edited content may be checked before it becomes visible. Possible actions include no action, a warning, reduced visibility, content removal, temporary restriction, suspension, or account termination. Serious or repeated violations may receive stronger action.
Once Community contributions open, Banana Apps targets an initial review of reports within 24 hours. Complex investigations or appeals may take longer. That target does not begin until a real response owner and the protected operator path are verified.
Appeals
Eligible moderation decisions can be appealed in the app. Appeals remain available when normal Community access is paused and require a lead or administrator decision. An appeal does not automatically restore content or account access.
